Someone (Sally G.) asked if I was working on a composite career. In a way it is my raison d'etre.

I am an entrepreneur and EverFile is my latest venture. I am committed to helping people manage their personal information in more thorough and systematic ways, with the ultimate goal to improve demonstration of Contribution Value and Time to Contribution. When we can demonstrate compellingly how -- and how quickly -- we can make a contribution to an organization, we can better differentiate yourself.

Also, the more information we can gather and manage about what we know, what we've done, what interests us, and who we know, the more we can appreciate how skilled and valuable we are!

Knowing one's value needs to start from the inside -- it is a personal belief that radiates out to connect to the world, and the world then responds, whether in the commercial, social, or spiritual area.

The Composite Career

Personally, I truly love the notion of the 'composite career' and I've been interested in it for a long time.

I am referring to the satisfaction of having multiple projects, assignments, or jobs that, when taken all together, enable you to earn the equivalent of what you would in a single full-time job with a single employer.

I know that the term 'portfolio career' is also in use, but somehow that term doesn't feel quite right to me. I like the more alliterative 'composite career' -- and I suppose one could also argue for 'compound career' -- because it means something that is blended, complex, melded, or synthesized. It seems to me that this really expresses the nature of this new way of working.
